Professional confidentiality

Everything discussed during treatment is handled confidentially. As a psychologist I am bound by professional confidentiality. Information is generally not shared with others without your permission.

In exceptional situations, a legal obligation or a serious safety concern may make it necessary or permissible to share information without consent, for example where there is serious or acute danger. In situations involving signs or suspicions of domestic violence or child abuse, I act in accordance with the applicable Dutch reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse and its assessment framework.

Record keeping

Information necessary for treatment is recorded in a secure electronic record. The record contains only information relevant to treatment and to professional and legal obligations.

Information to other healthcare professionals

Information is not shared with, for example, your GP or another healthcare professional without a valid basis. If coordination with another professional is advisable, this will normally be discussed with you in advance.

Who is responsible?

Sinan Kurt is responsible for the processing of personal data within his own practice. Questions about privacy or personal data can be sent to info@sinankurt.nl.

Which data may be processed?

Depending on the contact or treatment, this may include your name, contact details, appointments, correspondence, billing information and information necessary for psychological treatment. Health data are special-category personal data and are processed only when necessary for treatment or to meet professional and legal obligations.

Registration and first contact

At first contact, only information needed to respond and briefly assess whether my services may fit your request is requested. Please do not provide extensive medical, psychological or other sensitive information through an online form or email.

Contact form data is used solely to respond to your contact request. Form data is processed through Netlify under its applicable data-processing terms and deleted when it is no longer needed for the contact request. Do not share medical or other sensitive information through the form. Google Workspace is used for business email.

Purposes

Personal data are used to respond to contact requests, schedule and provide psychological treatment, maintain a record where required, administer and invoice services, meet professional quality obligations and comply with applicable law. No more data are processed than reasonably necessary for these purposes.

Reimbursed care via Caredate

If treatment takes place through Caredate, personal data necessary for the treatment and reimbursement process may be processed by Caredate and other parties that lawfully take part in that care pathway. Their own privacy conditions and procedures also apply.

Retention

Data are not kept longer than necessary or legally required. Data from an initial registration that does not lead to treatment are generally deleted within six months unless there is a concrete reason to retain them longer. Treatment records are retained in accordance with applicable legal retention periods; where the statutory medical-record duty applies, the period is in principle twenty years from the last amendment.

Suppliers and security

The practice may use carefully selected digital services, including Google Workspace. Where a supplier processes personal data on behalf of the practice, appropriate agreements and security measures are used. Access is restricted and accounts are protected with appropriate authentication and access controls.

Website, advertising and cookies

This website uses the Google tag to measure whether a visit following an advertisement leads to a contact request. Consent settings are denied by default. Without permission, no advertising or analytics cookies are stored; Google may then receive limited signals without advertising cookies. Only after permission is granted is a successful form submission measured as a conversion. No completed form fields, medical information or other sensitive information are sent to Google. Personalised advertising remains disabled. The choice is stored locally on the device and can always be changed through ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of the page. The Google Privacy Policy also applies to this processing. An embedded Google Maps map may additionally send technical information to Google. Technically necessary information may be processed by the hosting provider to keep the website secure and available.

Your rights

Where permitted by law, you may request access, correction, restriction or deletion of your personal data. You may also ask questions about the processing of your data. Send requests to info@sinankurt.nl. In some cases data cannot be deleted because a statutory retention duty applies.

Privacy complaints

If you have a question or complaint about the handling of personal data, please discuss it with me first where possible. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

This statement may be updated when working methods, services or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this website.
